Paramahamsa Vishwananda

Kriya Yoga is a practice with a long lineage in Indian tradition, historically taught directly from teacher to student. Paramahamsa Vishwananda teaches Atma Kriya Yoga — a practice he developed within this broader tradition, which he attributes to his guru, Mahavatar Babaji. Students describe his teaching as distinctive for its emphasis on devotion (bhakti) alongside the techniques themselves.

Paramahamsa Vishwananda

Kriya with a realized Master is different

Students often describe their experience with Paramahamsa Vishwananda as going beyond technique — speaking of the transmission during shaktipat as the moment the practice became real for them. In the tradition, the relationship with a teacher is considered central to the practice.

Answering life's timeless questions

What participants describe

A shift in the experience of fear

Many participants describe a changed relationship with fear and doubt over time. They speak of it less as a technique for banishing fear and more as a felt experience of the Divine as close and present — which they describe as changing how fear moves through them.

A different relationship with the mind

Practitioners often describe moving from fighting the mind to working with it — using breath and mantra to turn mental noise into focused attention. It's a long practice; participants describe it as continuing to deepen over years.

A return to the Self

Through the inquiry into Atma (Soul) that the practice opens, participants describe rediscovering a layer of themselves underneath the usual labels of success, failure, and limitation.

Transmission of grace and power

Shaktipat is a traditional element of the Kriya Yoga lineage — the moment of transmission between teacher and student. In the tradition, it's understood as the teacher awakening an energy already present within the student. During Soul Awakening, participants who wish to receive shaktipat initiation from Paramahamsa Vishwananda will have the opportunity.
